What cookies do

Cookies are small text records a website can store in a browser. They can support functions such as keeping a user signed in, remembering preferences or measuring visits. Other technologies, including local storage and tracking pixels, can have related purposes.

Whether consent is required depends on the technology, its purpose and the rules applicable to the visitor. A technology is not automatically exempt from privacy requirements simply because it runs on a server.

02

What this website uses

Lumos sets one necessary preference cookie, lumos_consent, to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional processing. It contains only accepted or rejected, lasts up to 180 days, is scoped to this website and uses SameSite=Lax and Secure when saved over HTTPS. We do not start a PHP session or use browser local storage. The amount selector, navigation and question panels work without storing your choices between visits.

No Meta Pixel or Google Analytics browser scripts are included. Technical request data is processed for our advertising analytics and traffic routing when the entry page is requested, before the cookie banner is displayed. The banner controls preferences for optional browser cookies, not that server-side request processing. No optional browser cookies are currently used. A service provider receives technical request metadata and may return a redirect. Server-side operation does not mean that no visitor information is shared. See the Privacy Notice for details. Fonts and visual elements are delivered without external font or image services.

03

Form interactions

The enquiry form uses a direct request to the website to check the information entered. That form request does not create a visitor profile or a saved loan application. A preference cookie may accompany requests to this website. The website does not use a cookie to remember the submitted information.

The Privacy Notice explains the distinction between a form interaction and contacting Lumos separately by email or telephone.

04

Hosting and external links

Hosting infrastructure receives technical request information when you access the site. Separate services may have their own security functions. This notice describes the technologies contained in the Lumos website itself.

If you follow a link to another website, that organisation controls its own cookies and processing. Read its notice and preferences before using its services.

05

Your browser choices

Most browsers let you view stored website data, delete cookies or restrict future storage. Settings are usually found under Privacy, Security or Site Settings. Blocking cookies should not prevent the core content of this version of the Lumos website from being read.

Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. Reject optional records your preference against optional browser cookies. It does not stop the server-side request processing described above or undo processing that has already taken place. Deleting the preference cookie will show the banner again. External destinations have their own policies and controls.
